Hi everyone,
I am 24 years old coming up 25 and yesterday went for my first routine cervical screening. When the nurse did the smear she noticed what she thought was a slight prolapse on the left hand side. I have asked my GP about prolapse in the past, as ever since I had my son in November 2018, I get extremely painful periods and heaviness, a dragging feeling where I feel like my insides are falling out, but they've always told me it's normal.
The nurse arranged for me to see the nurse practitioner straight away, who examined me with a speculum. She could see what the nurse meant but said it wasn't prolapse and she had no idea what it was. She said she could only describe it as what looked like a varicose vein near my ovary but didn't know what it was.
She has referred me to colposcopy (I think that's what she said, it was a lot to process at the time), as an urgent 2WW cancer suspicion. I have been sick with worry since yesterday and I just can't put my mind to rest. Does anyone have any experience with this or know what it could be? I can't even do any research as I don't know what it is.
Thanks in advance for any responses x
