Swollen lymph node?

Just seeking some advice really.

My husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer in March last year. Op was performed to remove one testie and he then went on to have 4 rounds of 5 day/23hr chemotherapy.

he was thankfully put into remission in September 19.

Monday he noticed a lump in his groin area. This lump is horrendously painful. We ended up at A&E today as the pain was unbearable for him. (Refered there by GP) We were seen by the lovely dr at A&E and they've ruled out, hernia and appendix.

he's had bloods done and they've advised they were all clear no infections etc. The only one that hadn't returned was the markers. We have to go back tomorrow for an ultrasound and results from markers.

My query is, has anyone had similar? Was it cancerous or just inflamed but maybe not shown on the blood test? I'm sitting up riddled with worry at the minute.

any advice would really be appreciated.

thanks.

  • Hello Butterfly1902,

Hopefully by now your husband will have had the ultrasound and results from the markers and I hope you have a little more clarity by now as to what has caused this lump in the groin area. I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be fine and I hope you won't need to wait too long for the ultrasound results.

It's normal to be worried at the moment especially in light of the fact that your husband had testicular cancer last year but try to not to anticipate too much what it might be. It won't be long now until you get some proper answers. The wait for results can be a particularly anxious time so try and keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking anything up online as this will only increase your anxiety.

I hope that others who have had something very similar in the past will be along shortly and that they will come and share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
