Hi all, newbie here!!
Around 8 weeks ago I found a lump under my arm, I also have what I now know are other symptoms, but never made the connection before. My GP was great and instantly referred me and put me on the 2 week pathway. I was seen on Wednesday; 6 weeks after the referral. I was seen by a breast specialist, who was quite frankly horrid. He took some info from me, my family history (breast cancer runs within my family) asked a few general health questions and then dismissed me. No examination, no other tests. His belief is, it's a problem with my chest and im too young for cancer, so his advice was to take paracetamol and ibuprofen ♀️
Anyway, I still have the original lump that I saw my GP about, it's gotten bigger and I can feel another very small lump not far from the original one also. Both are hard and neither are painful. Around 1.5 weeks ago I found hard lump in my earlobe on the same side; although, I'm unsure if it's related.
I've put in a complaint to the local Pals team about the consultant and spoken with my GP, who has said he isn't happy, but in order for me to be seen again, he will need to do another referral and with the current situation with COVID-19, I could be waiting in excess of 8 weeks for an appointment, which I understand, but mentally I'm not sure I could manage. I'm seriously considering going private to be seen, just to be able to know one way or another and then I can deal with whatever comes after that.
Anyway, I guess I'm looking for some advice/support and reassurance. Well anything really. I'm trying my best not to worry over it, as I know that won't help or change the situation. To be truthful, I'm more concerned on how all this is impacting my kids.
Thanks for reading!! Hope you are all safe and as well as can possibly be
