Hard lump on anus

Hi i am a 35 year old male and i do suffer from piles and have for a long time and i get blood most times however i have just found a pea sized very tender lump on/in the opening of my anus, i know all the treatments for constipation etc but am just worried this could be something more sinister. Has anyone had a similar thing?

  • Hello had to post seen this notification came up.. I'm no doctor or medical being just my own experience.. I had a lump on the anal verge.. Thinking it was piles at a mere 48yrs of age.. I finally plucked up the courage and went to gp. Given some steroid cream for 5days..used for that amount of time to th point it broke it down so much could barely walk.. However went back to gpnthe following week (a different one) to only be referred to collerectal clinic for a biopsy.. One week later to oncology nd three weeks later starts radiology.. Not pleasant or successful.. Now have a stoma and Apr operation.. Don't want to scare but please get checked out and be persistent... Best wishes

  • My anus is lumpy and I got a GP to check it last year, she said it was fatty tissue. Can you get a GP to check? I know corona is restricting surgery visits, but my GP sent me for a biopsy on my mouth as it has a lump, and hopsital saw me, although the other hospital cancelled bladder scan as they saw it as non urgent.

    Hope that helps.

  • Wow so sorry to hear about that, i literally have only noticed this hard lump as it is very tender and the only relief i can get is from a hot bath, i have had piles a while and they feel totally different to this as they are soft and painless. Im worried i will be adding to the pressure if i contact my gp and it ends up been nothing to worry about which chances are its not as i am only 35. I really appreciate your reply and my prayers are with you on your recovery x

  • Please don't worry about adding to the pressure if i contact your gp, mine was fine, he thought my lump was an ulcer. When corona came and restricted visits, as it was still there 2 weeks after we spoke, he referred me quickly for biopsy, which I had on Monday. Doctors are still interested in lumps and bumps even if they are nothing, they would rather you check and see its nothing than worry about cancer. Don't lett my biopsy worry you, its just a  precaution. Please contact doc, they wont be cross or hacked off with you.
