Hi,
I'm currently going out of my mind with worry. I found a breast lump 9 months ago and after a mammogram and ultrasound it was found to be a simple cyst. A few weeks ago I found another lump in the same breast that felt slightly different to the previous one. I had a mammogram last week and was referred to the breast clinic yesterday. An ultrasound picked up a small vague area (the words of the radiologist) and a slightly raised lymph node. Biopsies were taken of the lump and the lymph node. Following the biopsies I went back to see the breast consultant and he started immediately talking as if I have cancer. It's very small at 0.8mm, but due to the Covid-19 situation he's unsure about my treatment options and will discuss with me further on 20th. My mind is in a complete spin, how can he be sure it's cancer without the biopsy results? Why wasn't the cancer picked up 9 months ago? Is there anything else it could be? Also I am frightened that it is cancer that has been caught early and the delays due to Covid-19 may have a negative impact on overall outcome.
xx
