Scared I have Lung Cancer

Hi everyone 

I have read a few on this forum and some do help.

I have had a slight cough for about 3 or 4 weeks , with slight chest pain and last Sunday I cooughed up a small amount of blood in my sputum 

my Dr refereed me to A & E the following morning

I had blood tests done and an X Ray which was told both came back clear and fine 

they sent me for a CT as I'm an ex smoker ( gave up over a year ago ) saying just need to check and I am awaiting results 

Im not coughing as much but still cough up blood now and again

The anixesty isn't making me loose my appetite which it turns me loosing a small bit of weight that worries me even more 

Any help please x

    I can help you with anxiety and weight loss.

    Please try to eat normally, or small nutritious calorific foods.

    Non cancer related anxiety made me lose weight stones of it and now I feel nauseous when i eat fibre and food sits in my stomach for hours, my digestion has slowed.

    Not eating can cause a whole raft of problems.

    Congratulations on giving up smoking, I am an ex smoker, on NRT but addicted to that, so have had biopsy due to mouth lump, awaiting results.

    Glad your X ray showed no shadows, best of luck with CT scan, waiting for results is nerve wracking, but please don't make the same mistakes I did with not eating, I get that anxiety puts you off food, it does with me, but I regret it as I hope I have not damaged my digestive system.

    Not eating also increases anxiety.

    How long do you haeve to wait to get CT results?

    I am unsure when I will get my CT scan results back as I've not been informed yet

    But I'm hoping it will be soon

    How long ago did you have CT scan?

    Can you phone up?

    In our GP surgery, they have a telephone menu item to request test results, hospitals here send letters to patients and GP.

    Keeping fingers crossed for you. x

    I had my CT on Friday

    I spoke to my GP today and I'm seeing him Wednesday and he is going to contact hospital for some answers I think  x

    Hi Johnny

    I was getting error messages when trying to reply, so I tried to send you a pm but it said we needed to be friends so I sent you a pm, then I closed tab and opened a new one, and here I am.

    I am really glad you spoke to your GP, and are seeing him on Wednesday. He is a star for saying he will contact hospital for you. I wish you all the luck in the world.

    Just an update

    I had an appointment today with the respiratory specialist, he actually called me instead of me going to the hospital.

    He said that my CT scan has come back all clear and not to worry, which has put my mind to rest.

    He said if i cough up blood again to contact him and he will see if there is some kind of infection there

    He has also refered me to thre ENT to have a look as I may have a throat infection

    But i am pleaaed for him to confirm that there was nothing to see on my lungs at all
