I don’t know what to do

Hi I had an ultrasound last July as I found a lump in my left breast, results can back as fibrodenomatoid, I've recently noticed a new lump just above my breast (think it's a lymph node) it has an odd pain every now and then and has been there for 3/4 weeks now. I've contacted GP but due to covid-19 are avoiding patient contact so I have been informed to call back the start of may andnif it's till there she will refer me to breast Clinic again, I'm nervous about waiting that long. Has anyone else been in this situation.

  • Hello CG13,

This is such a difficult time at the moment due to coronavirus - I can understand why this is so stressful for you. If you notice any changes to this lump or are very worried about it, perhaps you could try and ring the surgery again and explain how this is making you feel. I hope that you will meet others who have found themselves in a similar situation having to wait a long time at the moment to be referred to the breast clinic. I know it is really hard but try and keep busy and distracted if you can while dealing with this long wait. Feel free also to give our nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be happy to talk to you and advise you on your current situation.

    Best wishes,
