I guess I mainly need somewhere to write where others are experiencing the same thing.
I'm 33 and have been experiencing bowel changes for 2 years. I was referred for a colonoscopy at the beginning of September 2019 due to weight loss, bleeding, constipation, anaemia and raised lymph nodes. I did all the prep and got to my appointment only to be told they wouldn't do the procedure at a community hospital due to my uncontrolled epilepsy and to go back to my gp for a referral to the main hospital. They wouldn't do it either despite my neurologist saying it would be ok to have the procedure. I had also ended up in A and E in December due to loosing a lot of blood and terrible stomach cramps which was completely pointless as after the Dr couldn't see any blood he suggested I had got my period early! I was referred to gastroenterology for an appointment on the 20th of February 2020 which was cancelled 2 days before as an emergency patient was given the appointment. They remade the appointment for June and I complained and it was remade for April which has now been cancelled due to the coronavirus. No private clinics are accepting new patients and my symptoms and stomach pain are getting worse. I'm really scared and as I live alone I haven't got anyone to support me. I don't know where else I can go to get seen and I'm not really sure as to what my next step would be.
Is there anyone else with similar symptoms that have been waiting a long time to be seen?
