Found a lump

Good morning everyone. Just joined today as looking for people experiencing similar situations as I've just found myself in. So felt what I thought could be a lump/fatty tissue etc in my breast. After the Gp wanting to see me yesterday she confirmed she could also feel a lump and is referring me and wants me seen within 2 weeks. I understand it could be nothing , and if course better to be safe than sorry but I suffer massively from anxiety and overthinking, so as you can imagine on the journey home I'd got myself in a right mess. Just looking to talk and share thoughts with people. Thankyou for listening.

  • Hi,

I too went to the doctors yesterday with a lump in my breast . I'm very aware of it and can feel sensation there when I lay a certain way etc . I had the appointment through this morning for next Tuesday , it says suspected cancer clinic and has scared the life out of me . Also to add to the equation the hospital then phoned and said it may not go ahead due to the Coronavirus. My anxiety is through the roof . I think we need to try and be positive but it's hard x

  • hi I am waiting for telephone call about my biopsy after finding lump in left breast they are 99% sure it's cancer one positive is it hasn't spread to lymph nodes. my anxiety is up and down I lost my sister at same age as me so you can imagine my thoughts. I am working from home during this time which is one plus. take care Clare xxx

  • Hi Clare,

I'm really sorry that you ar having such a stressful time with the diagnosis and I completely understand as that was me a few weeks ago. Found a lump, was given a mamo, ultrasound and biopsy. The waiting for results was the hardest week of my life. Anxiety is not even close to what I experienced.

So a few things to focus, they did not see lymph nodes involved, you don't mention how they checked that? Also, did they tell you the size?

So, one thing I have learnt is that cancer even breast cancer is 1. Very common and 1 out of 8 women will get it in their lifetime. 2. There are so many subtypes of this and you will get to know this. We are all different. 3. Treatment is absolutely fantastic these days.

Advice, take one step at a time. Try and distract yourself as much as you can. Don't Google things as much as you can help it.

I hope my words are of some help. Xx

  • hi

the lymph nodes were checked during ultrasound they confirmed it is in one place on the left side and that's what they will concentrate on.

I am busy all day but this covid stay at home is not helping I live on my own too. I just need the call to put my mind into gear...

    have you had cancer.
