Unexplained postmenopausal bleeding

Hi. I'm 53 and no period for at least 18 months until Thursday. Really nervous and doc has referred me for urgent consultation. It was only a chat with doc as due to coronavirus they don't do face to face, and now the consultation on Tues will probably b over the phone too. Just want to know what it is and get it cut out if it's anything sinister. I got my medical records from a back op I had 4 yrs ago and find out they found a fibroid but didn't tell me so hoping it's just that that has grown. I hate going to doc especially as hubby had only just recovered from cancer :(

    Hello Annie... yes, good luck tomorrow.  Unfortunately they can't really give you any info, without at least an ultrasound... but hopefully they get moving and you don't have too many delays.  Keep us informed of your progress, as lots of people on here are being delayed.  Best Diane

    Hi Annie, I had exactly the same thing, luckily all ok. Just Mother Nature having the last word!!  Nothing since. Hopefully will be the same for you. Hope it all goes well tomorrow. Joy x

    I have recently has this too . Luckily for me my scan and consultant were 10 days ago and I had my biopsy a week ago . I think it would be great if the hospital could get you a TVS as soon as they can , then the doctor will have something to go from for your consultation.

    my sister said she had the same a few years ago for 2 MONTHS! but didnt see a doctor!

    looks as though the bleeding has slowed now so defo the same time as a normal period

    Unfortunately hospital phoned to cancel the appt today as it was a new gynae who isnt starting now, and they dont have another on staff.  Tried a place in Northampton and they wont take any new referrals but will call me by tomorrow to chat and so trying another place too. 

    if all else fails will go NHS but really hate the conveyor belt system there and quite a few docs are falling ill which doesnt fill me with confidence :(
