Hi,
In June 2019 I went to the doctors about a hard lump behind my left collarbone. My GP referred my for a chest x ray which showed no abnormalities. However, 9 months later and the lump is still there and more prominent. I have obviously been googling and am aware that a supraclavicular lymph node is called the virchow’s node and the majority of the time is a sign of metastasic cancer from the abdominal region. I have previously been diagnosed with IBS so I wonder if this mistaken and my symptoms are actually gastric cancer. I have also found 2 cases where chest x rays for a collarbone lump have come back normal but when biopsied reveal cancer. I am 20 so the risk of cancer is not great but in patients <40 the presence of virchow’s node still is 25% malignant. I also have discovered in the past few days a hard, large lump on the right side of my neck which of course I am afraid is a lymph node.
I would usually book a doctors appointment but given the current situation i am afraid of going and do not know if i will even be seen. If I am ill, the virus will be very dangerous for me and I am extremely anxious.
Please can someone offer me advice on what to do! I am very scared and Do not know what is the best thing to do in this current climate.
Thank you.
Mabs
