Biopsy 14 weeks postpartum

Hi,

I am 14 weeks postpartum & at around 7 weeks noticed a lump on left upper/outer breast.

I was referred to breast clinic, which I attended on sat.

Ultrasound showed a 1cm mass of some sort. Sonographer felt may be a cyst or galactocele, but on attempt, was unable to aspirate as it was solid.

Due to this, biopsies were taken (3).

I am now quite worried as she was unable to get any fluid from the lump.

Wondered if anyone has had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance xx

  • Hi Cannon

Congratulations on the birth of your little one! and I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with this concern at a time when you should be enjoying your baby.

We know that finding a lump and attending clinic can be a scary experience. We've lots of women here on the forum who have been in that situation and hopefully some of them will pop along to say Hello and share their experiences with you. Try and keep in mind that the majority of women who attend breast clinic aren't diagnosed with breast cancer.

Have the clinic told you when you'll hear with biopsy results? Hopefully it won't be too long and you'll have some information to reassure you.
If it would help to chat to one of our nurses then you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040 (Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm).

    Sending best wishes,

  • Thank you Jenn & thanks for reply.

They couldnt tell me for certain when results would be, due to pressure just now with covid.

Girls who did my ultrasound thought possibly by tomorrow but, consultant didnt want to commit to a time frame.

I recently lost my sister in law to secondary breast cancer, aged 34, so I am super anxious about all of this.

Hopefully hear some positive news soon
