Worried male breast cancer

Hi

I'm new to this sort of thing as wouldn't normally post online, but I don't know where to turn and feel quite lost and alone.

In December I went to see my GP about a small lump I found on the edge of my areola, the lump appears to be under a Montgomery spot. The GP examined me and completed a full physical check breast and armpit and said she couldn't feel anything and said to leave it be as they (Montgomery) can sometimes feel like that.

So to fast forward to the other day I called the GP and said basically I can still feel it there would it be possible for another look. I had a video consultation and was then invited in for a quick check. I went and showed the GP and she said basically if she feels anything she will refer male to the breast clinic she then said I'm not too worried. I pointed to where it was and she had a prod and poke and said ok I'll send you for a check should be within 2 weeks time. The letter arrived today and my anxiety went through the roof as the letter is very blunt isn't it.

I can't stop touching it. Basically I can grab the lump between finger and thumb, the only way to describe it here t feels like a pin head or grain of rice.

I'm worried as I have a wife and two children, and my job is not secure as I took on a new position then Covid 19 has came about and now don't know wether I'll be now going to that role and my current employer has replaced me so can't retract my notice.

Any advice or information would be appreciated. I have tried speaking to my partner but she has enough on her plate at the moment as she works in NHS.

Thanks for reading
