Hi all,
This is my first post to please bare with me. For the last few months I've had some unusual itching of my left breast and nipple. Two weeks ago, whilst bathing I found a lump, just above my left nipple. It's hard and small, partner confirmed he could also feel it. I am 35.
Made an appointment to see my gp, who upon examination also confirmed the lump. Due to my paternal grandmother (at 45) and paternal aunt both suffering from breast cancer and an extensive cancer history in my maternal side he referred me on the 2ww. My appointment is for 19th, I'll be having an ultrasound first and then seeing the consultant after. More tests will be carried out of necessary.
Honestly, this is terrifying. I know the chances of cancer at my age are slim but my family history is awful. My uncle had skin cancer at 28, maternal grandmother had cervical, lung and brain cancer. Maternal grandfather and mother have leukaemia!! Among other who have had different forms of cancer! Am I a ticking time bomb?
Just keeping positive and trying to convince myself its harmless but should I be prepared for the worst?
Thank you for any advice or support you can give.
