Scared about bronchoscopy

Hi

Some of you will know from previous posts that I was given a 2 week referral for possible lung cancer. The scan was on 6th Feb and was ok. No tumour seen. Because of worsening and new symptoms I was offered a bronchoscopy. I am anxious about the procedure, let alone if they find something. I have been getting panic attacks. If they find something and biopsy it do you think they will tell me they found it there and then as I will have nobody with me? Most people at bronchoscopy stage would already know something was there from the scan so I'm not sure how this will work. My bloods showed blood was a bit thick but consultant reassures me this is not a sign of anything. I am unsure about this. I have a lymph node swollen above my collar bone for the last week. 

Just in need of a little support and reassurance that I will cope if they find something although I know I would have no choice. My kids are in bits about me having tests in the first place.

    New on here so please bear with me. Had a bronchoscopy on Thursday after a ct scan for something completely separate in February found a small mass. 

    The bronchoscopy is OK a bit uncomfortable in places but I had sedation so would recommend it. The staff were lovely and kept me up to date all the way through. They took biopsies which should be back in 2 weeks but all they said was they have got everything they need and not to worry too much. 

    Would not be nervous about having a bronchoscopy again unlike other medical procedures I have had plus iam a grade 1 coward

    It's so hard when CT didn't show anything as consultant was initially going to leave it at that but I have other symptoms arrived since the CT scan.

    Let me know when you get your results. The waiting is horrendous and many on here would say that it's worse than actually finding out what you're dealing with as at least you know where you're at.

    Hello again

    Got another ct scan on 30 March and see consultant on  1st April. Don't know why they are scanning me again but hey ho.

    Just another ordinary CT on 30th? Strange they haven't told you why
