Suspected cancer Lower GI

Hi I'm new on the forum. For the last week or so it's been very difficult. My father recieved an outpatients appointment for suspected cancer. He has been to see the doctor who has said hes anaemic. Hes very worried and doesn't say much. I asked him what the doctor had said and he told me that she thinks his symptoms need to be investigated further. Does this mean they have found something other then his anemia which have flagged up? He doesn't think hes has blood in his stool.. he completed two FIT tests, last one was in Apr 19. Its driving me mad thinking hes going to be told he has cancer. No other known symptoms. Eating well no fever just very tired. Please someone put some reassurance back in me. Hes my life and soul and I cant deal with it right now.

Any sort of advice would be appreciated.

Regards

  • Hello Nazzia,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long to find out more. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
