Going for a colonoscopy

Hi, last week I had a camera test into my stomach, it was clear, the hospital phoned me on Monday to say I have to have a colonoscopy on the 25th of March, I have anemia for no obvious reason, been on iron tablets for 6 months, I've been tired, been really drained, low energy and get really breathless for no apparent reason. All been going on for months now. Also my bowel habits have changed too. My doctor sent away a stool sample a few weeks ago and it came back that there was blood in it. I'm really worried.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns over the last few months. The sypmtoms that you've described are typical of anaemia and it sounds as if the hospital are doing what they can to try to find the cause of your problem. 

    We know that it can be a really difficult time when waiting for tests and results. Try to take each day as it comes and not think too far ahead.
