Endoscopy experience - not so bad after all

Good morning everyone,

if you are anything like I was you will be reading all the horror stories about having an endoscopy procedure. I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks and for the whole 2 weeks leading up to my endoscopy I was in a terrible state constantly looking at what people where saying and it honestly put the fear of god in me. I had mine done yesterday at 11am and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I went for sedation but I am on a lot of medication so it didnt work properly I just laid down and concentrated on my breathing. It was not painful and to be honest it was quite easy. The nurses and the doctor really help to put you mind at ease. I was out of the room in 5 minutes and really don't know why I was so scared. The doctor will talk to you first to see if you would like sedation and they really do make you feel so at ease. If I had to have another one it wouldn't phase me at all and coming from me that's a bold statement. I just wanted people who are searching the Internet to find out people experiences of this procedure to know it really is fine and done so quick.
