Probable Benign Polypoidal Tumour

Hi,

Just found this forum.

I've recently been bowel screened - thankfully aged 50 in Scotland - and has a postive FIT test.  Was sent for a colonoscopy which I really didn't want to do having had no symptoms whatsoever.

The results of that test say "Probable Benign Polypoidal Tumour" - waiting for a call from my GP to discuss but seeing tumour has totally freaked me out and the use of probable - I am hoping these guys see enough colons to know cancer from a probable benign - but still a worry.

Any advice appreciated - thanks in advance.

  • Hi Fojo,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be quite unsettling, however try not to worry at this stage - some people say it helps to keep busy and distracted while waiting for further information, to help keep your mind off things.

Once you find out more it will hopefully give some peace of mind and some next steps. I hope it's not too much longer to wait.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Ben,

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I appreciate my "probable" is better than many on the site so I am trying to remain positive and keep busy til I know more.

    Thanks again,

    Fojo
