My period this month was 4/5 days late & I’ve now been on it for 12 days... I am SO worried.

It’s normally on time and only lasts maximum a week. The blood is still bright red, it’s not loads and I did have really bad pains in my pelvic area but they seem to of died down now... I’m 26 and have had my period since I was 12 and it’s never lasted longer than a week before...

I had a smear 18 months ago that came back as CIN2 and then had lletz treatment that came back successful and I am due a smear on Wednesday. 
 

The blood coming now is not like a normal flowing period, it normally falls when I sit on the toilet and is not continuous during the day and the pain has subsided but my right side of my pelvis is still tender and a little bit of cramping. 
 

I have never had a prolonged period before? The doctor said pelvic inflammatory disease but another disagreed as this is came on all of a sudden and I have no fever vomiting excruciating pain etc. 
 

Could this just be a longer period than normal? Please help. I am so worried. 

Has anyone experienced something similar?
