Worried about results and awaiting colposcopy.

I had my first smear a few weeks ago - results came back saying I was HPV positive and there were border changes in my cells! 

I am so confused as everything I read gives me conflicting information! (I know surfing the internet and trying to diagnose myself is not smart but I can't help it)

I have my colposcopy appointment tomorrow and I cannot sleep! So stressful as I don't even really understand what they are checking for! Or if my results are bad?

    HI Jolzx,

    I am not a doctor but I have had the HPV positive result. As far as I know, HPV can come and go and can clear your system on its own.  They are just going to check to make sure that the border changes aren't too severe. The colposcopy will tell the doctor that and then they can decide if they need to anything to prevent further issues.  Try to relax, you can do this. And don't check the internet, it doesn't pertain to your personal situation!

    Hi Laura,

    thank you for replying to my post ! 
    I relaxed as much as I could and the colposcopy was not bad at all ! I really over did it in my head. 
     

    My changes were low so I'm returning in January for a smear. Hopefully by then everything will have cleared!
