Breast Biopsy

Hi

Hope this is ok to post here - I'm 31 - I went to my doctors a couple weeks ago as I have noticed my breasts feel overall lumpy and there is an obvious lump under my nipple!

I originally was seen just over a week ago and had an ultrasound with fna (I had implants After my 3rd child so the doctor advised this initially) as the lump is sitting directly on top of my implants just below my nipple - the results came back with no diagnosis as there was blood in the sample so I had full biopsy yesterday which was quite difficult due to the position and apparently my breast tissue is very dense and naturally after having an implant the doctor told me your body forms a tissue sac around the implant and the lump is underneath that so there may be a chance the biopsy hasn't taken enough sample as she was only just able to get needle in - I'm worrying about the next stages (I know seems really silly compared to what others going through) but I am now waiting until next Wednesday and I don't want to worry my friends and family - has anyone else had a similar experience - if the biopsy hasn't worked so you know what the next option would be - the lump is only 14mm from ultrasound  even though feels bigger

any help/ others experienced similar would be really helpful xxx

  • Hi EMV02 and welcome to the forum.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their advice and experiences with you soon but whilst you wait I just thought I would give you our cancer nurses telephone number in case you wanted to talk things through with them. If you do, their phone number is 0808 800 4040 and are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the best for Wednesday.
