Hiya I feel a tad fraudulent asking questions on her when so many of you have fought much tougher battles but I'm so confused 

I've had a sore throat for 10 weeks now 3 courses of antibiotics and a tooth extraction that wont heal and the gp has starting talking about cancer? I could have fell off my chair?!? 

I dont feel unwell just no voice and sore throat and lumpy when I swallow if that makes sense all my obs are fine but shes insisted I get to hospital with 48 hours for xray and bloods and shes put through a emergency referral to ent. I'm just confused as of my age I'm 35 the thought of cancer didnt dawn on me especially because I feel so normal .....

Can any young females or gents give me some info on how yours started and progressed please...maybe juvenile of me but I assumed throat/oral cancers were very rare in younger adults

    Hello,

             l can well see how this must have come as a shock and be very concerning to you. Did your doctor mention throat cancer or is this you connecting the sore throat to cancer?Have you considered the possibility of Oral cancer, its more prevalent in youuger people and can cause sore throats and is very treatable when caught early.It sounds very good news that you do not feel unwell

         l hope you get some clear answers quickly and the right treatment to put you back on the straight and narrow,

    Hiya thanks for reply 

    The gp asked me and head or neck cancers in the family and literally turned her pc screen around to do some form of cancer check list making sure I understand I was on a fast track 14 days and that I had all symptoms but being under 45....I'm.quite logical and just wondered anybody else's experience similar to mine
