I was rerred for an ENT appointment first and then given an appointment for a biopsy on anothe day at the day surgery department.

Thank you for the reply I really appreciate it. Have you had a diagnosis yet or are you still waiting for the appointment? 

They made me another ENT appointment after the biopsy which is on Tuesday so very worried. They said the the growth of my tongue doesn't look good and that they suspected to find something else.

I am so sorry to hear that. Try to keep positive until you know for sure although I understand that's hard to do.. Mine is on my tongue too. My doctor said I needed an emergency biopsy and tried to get me an appointment the following day. That was nearly four weeks ago. My appointment is at the oral and facial surgery clinic not at the ENT. 

I would definitaly chase this up as urgent appointments are usaully within 2 weeks. Give them a ring, the waiting and not knowing is awful and of course a diagnosis as early as possible is best.

I really feel for you no wonder you are very worried. I dont think it was fair of them to comment on the growth before biopsy and result. That has just given you cause to worry and possibly for the wrong reason.

Even though you have been referred for biopsy you will be checked out by either a ENT or a max facial Dr. They make the decision whether to biopsy. You will probably be sent an appt within 2 weeks following your first appt.Then its usually a further 2weeks for biopsy reults.

It all really depends on how busy various depts are in nhs,theres not really hard and fast timescales..I was fast tracked in Nov but wasnt seen till Jan so its a bit of a lottery.

Just keep on doing what you have been and keep yourself busy.

Thank you very much for the information. I am anxious about the amount of time passed as my cousin is a nurse and she says if it is cancer then time is crucial. I am starting to have issues swallowing. 

Your right though. I need to keep positive and deal with whatever it is when I know.
