5 weeks and still no biopsy results

Hi everyone, 

I had a cervical biopsy taken 5 weeks ago today and I still have no results, I have wrung the department and they keep telling me that someone will call me back and still no news.

I'm worried because I have other symptoms and the doctors keep fobbing me off but is this a normal wait time for a biopsy result?

    I'm sorry to hear that you're still awiting for biopsy results. I know that many of our members here will be able to understand just how difficult waiting for biopsy results can be. 

    There can be many reasons that results take some time and it's understandable to be concerned especially if you're dealing with on going symptoms. 
    If you feel that yo'ure struggling to get any answers about how long things may take from the hospital then you might consider getting in touch with the PALS department who may be able to help. 

    I do hope you have some news soon.

    Hello there, sorry about your worrying time. My hubby has bile duct cancer with secondaries in Liver and he has a predicted short future. I have to tell you that I had to chase information and appointments all the time. I rang the specialists secretary to push things a long. If you know who your specialist is, ring the hospital switchboard and ask to be put through to secretaries. If not make appointment with doctor and tell them if they don't know the answer, you would like them to chase it up for you as you are concerned about how long it is taking.
