How you find out you have cancer

I am 49 and got a letter for breast screening as a trial for earlier screening through doctors . Was toltally surprised to get a call back . They said they found Calcifications and did a needle biopsy . Mind was going over time as my daughter is training in radiography. They asked if I was ok to have telephone appoint. I got the phone call a week later to say I have Lobular Neoplasia B3 and told it is begin but she emphasised the B3. Saying I would need another biopsy . Have just been on Friday for vacuum biopsy . And again asked if I want telephone results . I asked if it is cancer would they tell me over the phone and they said no face to face . So when I get the phone call on Thursday it will either be begin or we would like to see you do then I will know . Just wish it was over the wait is horrible . Have already been through this 5 years ago with my son who was 15 at the time he had to have biopsy in Birmingham which is a 4 hour drive from us do they said they would tell us over the phone if it was cancer which it was . So I have already convinced my self :(

  • Welcome to the forum Mad70 although I'm sorry for the reason you're posting.

Waiting for results is always difficult but you're not alone as many of our members have been in a similar position and will hopefully be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

I hope this information I've found online will help you whilst you wait as well.

I'll have my fingers crossed for good news Mad70.

    Kind regards,
