Breast Lump and arm pain

Hi everyone,

I found a lump on my right breast about 2 weeks ago. I saw the GP on Tuesday 18th Feb who examed the lump and referred me to the breast clinic. On Thursday 20th Feb I started to get feverish and my breast was very tender along with pain in my neck and down my right arm. I thought this could indicate an infected cyst in the breast but the Dr wasnt sure. After a few days the symptoms eased off.

I was at the breast clinic on Tuesday 25th Feb and she then referred me for an ultrasound. I have been today (27/2) for my ultrasound and while there they asked me to have a biopsy, which I assume is normal and doesnt indicate anything to worry about. However the pain in my arm and neck has returned this evening (along with breast pain from the biopsy)

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could the pain I get in my neck/arm be linked to Drs touching the lump and triggering something? I have no idea.

  • Hi mrsb7 I've been having some of the symptoms you are the doctor thought mine was a abscess I've just finished my second lot of antibiotics today and it's still there along with a lump in my arm pit my breast appointment is next week I've already had a fibro adenoma removed from the same breast and suffer with cysts in there too it's a worrying time but hopefully for both of us it will all be OK I had a biopsy when they found it was a fibro adenoma it will be sore for a few days hoping everything will be fine for you

  • Oh sorry to hear you are experencing similar symtoms! I do hope it is nothing sinsiter for you and hopefully another cyst. I have never experienced anything like this before, cysts tend to run in my family though with my Grandma, Mum and sister all suffering with breast cysts. The Dr has said its not that though. x
