Hi I woundering if anyone can help I've been have pains in my stomach and there is a lot of mucus when I go toilet as well by stool is very black as well ?? I recently had. A mri of my lower body and that came back all normal would a mri scan pick bowel cancer up

    I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently. You don't mention if you've been to see your Dr about the pains, mucus and change in stools and I'm unsure if the MRI was for this or something else. 

    If you've not seen your Dr then please do make an appointment to discuss your concerns. They will be best placed to help with the symptoms that you're experiencing.

    I think it would be a CT that would detect bowel cancer.

    A colonoscopy is what you need to find the cause of your symptoms.

    I would get a gp appointment booked and take it from there.
