Hello LJ1403
I'm glad to hear that your tongue is healing well after your recent surgery. I know we've had a number of folk post on the forum who have struggled for some time after having similar operations.
We know that waiting for results can be a really worrying time for people. It seems typically that people are routinely told about 2 weeks for results but it can vary quite vastly depending on a number of things.
As it's only been just over a week since your had the operation maybe leave it till the end of this week or the beginning of next week and if you're not heard then give the Consultant's secretary a call to see if they can give you any idea about when you may hear back. I do hope it's not too long before you have some news.
Best wishes,

Hi jenn
thank you for the information I wasn't sure was just told I will get an appointment through
I will wait till it's been over the two weeks and then ring to see if they can tell me anything.
thanks again.
Hello, I had a biopsy taken from under my tongue the first week in Dec. I got the results about a week later. I'm certain they try to be as quick as possible as they know you just worry.
Hope you're doing ok. Cheers Colin.
Hi Colin
thank you for taking the time to message.
The waiting is the worse bit of it all
my stitches are still there, do they normally take this long to dissolve?
hope your doing ok
liz :-)
I'm pretty sure they took about a week to disappear. They were really small. I think the hardest part was trying to keep my mouth open and tongue still for five minutes!!
I'm spot on now, keep in touch, especially if there's anything I could help with. Colin.
yeah I get what you mean, am tongue tied so the dr was asking me to stick my tongue out and I couldn't get it far lol but the nurse just pulled it and held it. Was scared of the needle but it wasn't as bad as having one in the dentist.
think the mind makes it out to be worse than what it is
glad yours Is all fine now
it's nice to hear off people who have already been through this to know what's normal or not if you get me.
take care
Liz, how's things, any news yet? When I read your post I was assuming you'd just had a biopsy, or was it surgery?
Cheers. Colin.
Hi Colin
Hope your ok ? How you doing ??
I had two lumps in the back of my tongue so they said instead of just taking abit they would just cut them out and stitch it up but On consent form it said biopsy. both the lumps are gone thankgod
phoned the secretary and she said the results wasn't back yet :-/
will try again next week hopefully they will be, Everything seems to be fine, no pain at all,
hope you have a nice weekend

Hi Colin
How's you ?
just phoned the sec and she said the results are back and I asked could I cancel the appointment if everything is ok but she can't give me them I have to come in to see the doctor but my appointment isn't till 31st of this month , that must be good mustn't it because wouldn't my appointment be sooner if it wasn't good news ? feel like wasting an appointment if it's ok and someone else could need it
:)
Hi Liz, I'm ok thanks. I think you're probably right, if it was urgent you'd be seen quicker.. I got called in just a week after the biopsy, but I needed an op.
I hope you don't mind me mentioning it but you say you're tongue tied, to be honest I didn't even know what that meant. The thing is, my op. involved taking a bit out under my tongue, so I guess I'm the same. It's took several weeks to get used to but I'm getting the hang of it.
I hope your stitches have gone now and everything is as it should be.
Keep in touch, with hopefully great news.
Colin.
