Count down to hysteroscopy

Hi,

I have been hoovering around for a few months basically in a state of limbo.  Am due for hysteroscopy with removal of small fibroids and possible polyp in 4 weeks.

I am 44 but 45 soon.  Problems started around 4 years ago with an incident of post coital bleeding. Polyp found and removed. Then periods starting to act out of whack - earlier starting sometimes and sometimes going on for 8 days instead of usual 7. No abnormalities found in cervix and told not to worry. Last year more significant issues - period stretching to 10 days on one occasion.  Also a few times period would stop after 7 day then morning blood on day 9 then stop then back day 11 then stop - very odd and unpredictable.

Two ultrasounds with transvaginal done to reveal small fibroids and possible polyp on second one.  Also 4.5cm Ovarian Cyst classed as dermoid and being monitored.  I  have raised my concerns with my Gynacologist about what might be found, i.e. cancer but he is not concerned at this stage.

Anyone been through similar with good/bad results?

xx

  • Hi Clare1975,

I'm sorry to read about the problems you've been experiencing. It is reassuring to hear your Gynaecologist isn't concerned but I'm sure it doesn't stop you feeling unsettled and having questions.

While I can't help in terms of advice or similar experience, my reply here will boost your post so if anyone else has experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.
