MRI

Had an MRI on my throat as I have an enlarged tonsil and my voice had changed. That was 9 days ago and I have just received a follow up outpatient appointment in 10 days time, so almost three weeks on from the scan.
If there was something serious would this appointnent have happened more quickly? quite stressed about it all at the moment so any advice would be really welcome.

  • Hello Brian123

We know that waiting for results can be an incredibly stressful time. It's natural to be worried about things and trying to read betewen the lines about why things happen at the pace they do can lead to you feeling more anxious.

Although much easier said than done, try to take each day at a time, keep busy and not look too far in ahead. Give Dr Google a wide berth; he's particularly unreliable!

If you'd like to talk to one of our nurses about your concerns ahead of your appointment then you're welcome to give them a call. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that your appointment brings positive news. We're here if you need us.

    Best wishes,
