Lipoma??

Okay so this is getting me obsessed into google searching and really not helping my anxiety. 
So the other day I was randomly doing a breast check on myself and I noticed my left side between my breast and armpit was a bit squishy compared to the other side? Looked down and it looked like a bump was there that wasn't on the other side. 
Went to docs and she felt it and thinks it's a lipoma its 4cm approx... not tender, can't feel a bump it's just squishy and soft. But she has referred me to have an ultrasound which I'm still waiting for... if she was confident it's a lipoma why has she referred me to get it checked :( I'm thinking worse case here I really am.

  • Welcome to the forum Pamby93 although I'm sorry for the reason you're posting.

    It's always scary when you're told you're being referred but it's good your doctor is being thorough and making sure the lump is looked at properly.

    Having been through this process themselves, many of our members will understand how you're feeling though and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

    Can I ask how you got on?  I found a lump in the same place 2 days ago.  Today my GP has referred me to Breast Clinic under the 2 week wait.  
    My GP didn't mention Lipoma just referred me.  I am so scared, especially at the current time with Coronavirus to worry about.

    Hi there. 

    I hope you're okay now and you got sorted with your test? 

    I have recently found a squishy lump between my left breast and my lower ribs which is raised when I lie flat but not visible when I'm stood up. 

    My GP can only give me a telephone appointment in 2 weeks time. I have spoken to a Dr online who did say it sounded like lipoma. I hope so as it's been causing a bit of pain and now I've got two weeks of worrying before I speak to my GP.

    Let's hope I can get sorted soon.
