Cervical cancer worried sick

Ive got symptoms of cervical cancer and I'm really worried. I'm putting on a face and keeping positive in front of my partner because he is worried but it's so draining. 
I had cin 3 about 8 years ago and it took them a while to diagnose as my hpv was negative so retested 6 months later saying it was probably hormonal. I had them removed and next smear was clear. Fast forward to last year and that smear was clear too but I have many symptoms of cc. I'm under the gynaecologist and have an ultra sound that didn't show any cysts or fibroids etc. Having a colposcopy on Friday and a hysteroscopy on Tuesday. I'm trying to keep positive that it's hormonal but the fact that they only check the hpv on screening now and not the cells unless you are hpv positive worries me as I know I had changed before while hpv negative. 
I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience that could offer any advice or support.

    I was told at my last smear you can't have cervical cancer without a positive HPV result, HPV is always present. It's like having a positive pregnancy test without having the pregnancy hormone present, you can't have one without the other. Please note this was what I was told by the nurse when I questioned why they don't test for abnormal cells if you get a nagative HPV result. Hope this helps to reassure you

    Thanks for the response. 
    I can speak from experience that you can have abnormal cells with a hpv negative as I had it happen to me. From looking on here I see that people have been diagnosed with cc and had a hpv negative result too. I know the percentage is low of this happening, just worried as I've had the pre cancerous cells with negative hpv and all symptoms are pointing towards cc. Having already had the ultrasound that has ruled out cysts and fibroids.

    This is good to know, I don't think nurses should be telling patients incorrect information then this is worrisome thanks for responding
