Help... i only discovered yesterday i had a thon black horizontal line on both feet same toe recently bangrd my toe but had pins and needles in toes twice. Please help
I think that, if you've only just noticed these lines and they appear on the same toe on each foot, you have possibly been wearing ill fitting shoes that have caused trauma to the toe nails. If you have been doing more walking than usual and the shoes aren't suitable the toes rub on the shoes or against each other & this can cause marks on the toenails - it's usually bruising under the nail.
If you can't put it down to this type of trauma and you have only banged one toe, not both, you should see your GP who may be able to diagnose something easily treatable, possibly a fungal infection. If you are worrying it's something more serious your GP will be able to put your mind at rest. Subungal melanoma under the toe nail is not common and it only usually occurs under one nail, not two or one nail on each foot. Neither does it cause pins and needles in the toes.
