Burning sensation in right breast very scared

Hello everyone,

im 11 days away from having my appointment at the breast clinic,I'm 35 and with no children.  The last 5 months I've had a burning/tingling sensation on my right breast, specifically in one area top right in line with my armpit. I've seen 5 doctors and they have all examined my breast and said they cannot feel anything, however when I'm home the pain and sensation is constantly their. I'm convinced I can feel a lump but it may just be a lymph node that I keep squeezing. I have a pain in my right shoulder blade and my legs have started aching and feeling so heavy. I'm constantly crying and anxious. No pain medication helps and nothing takes away the sensation. I'm convinced I have breast cancer and even more so convinced I've left it so long that it's now spread. My mum was diagnosed with womb cancer around the time this pain started and suffered a catastrophic stroke after surgery. I'm so stressed out and exhausted. I can deal with more heartache and I just want this to be okay. Has anyone else had these feelings in their breast? It's just the one breast! And underneath has severely sharp tissue pain.  Thank you in advance for any responses. All my love lil

  • Hiya I have exactly the same as you ' left breast armpit  shoulder blade '   I've had this for 3 days not been to doctors yet '  I'm currently on HRT  treatment so I was thinking maybe that is the reason I'm feeling this discomfort '  but this as helped to see all the comments & to see I'm not alone but it as scared me a bit  because it makes you think of the big C'

  • Thank you- all of you for keeping us all updated. I've been having breast pain in my right brest for about 6 months. So much so, I'd flinch when anyone would come near me incase they knocked it. Around 5 weeks ago was a particularly bad day and when I took my bra off my boob felt like it would explode. I rubbed it and low and behold I felt a lump! I do however have quite bumpy boobies but this one felt different. I buried it and didn't touch it again hoping it would go away. I busied myself in my new job as a cancer nurse specialist and kinda managed to forget about it although the pain remained. The last 4 days I've had a prolific burning pain which I can constantly feel and i am constantly conscious of it. I took a leaf out of my own book and finally decided to make an appointment with my GP. they were amazing and seen me immediately there and then. She did a breast exam and to my absolute disappointment she also felt the lump and due to the burning pain and lump has done an urgent referral for me to breast clinic. This was yesterday so as you all can imagine I'm scared stiff now waiting for this appointment but you lovely ladies sharing your stories has settled my mind a little. I'm praying that this also turns out to be something less scary than what my mind is thinking! But, the constant burning and pain kinda takes my mind back into a bad place again! I'm 36 with 2 little angels and I need to be a healthy mummy for them! Everything crossed I get seen quickly. Love to you all xxx

  • Hi,

Reading your post was just like reading mine (scroll up) I had this very same problem back in 2021. I too felt a lump and knew it was where the pain was radiating from. Continuous burning in my right breast. My Gp also felt the lump and I was refered for a scan on the two week path. I was convinced it was something serious due to being older, 61,and therefore not hormonal changes due to periods etc and I felt sick with worry. I had the scan and the breast surgeon reassured me that it was infact hormonal. Since then my daughter 34 has also had the same problem and she too was extremely worried and anxious. Hers too was referred to hospital on the two week path. Her scan also showed hormonal changes to the breast. I understand how worried you must be, the pain is awful! Like really bad sunburn  on the inside and when I leaned against anything it was even worse. Try not to worry, and fingers crossed your scan is all ok x
P.S, I'm still get it now , every now and again , and it lasts for a few days.
