Parotid tumour

I'm new to all of this and scared. I'm currently waiting for a biopsy on a possible tumour. I've had an ultrasound and was told I need further tests to "see if it's benign or something more sinister" I have all sorts of stupid thoughts running through my head mainly about my young daughters. I've done all the reading I can (goggle is a scary place) and tried to stick to main cancer sites, and I know the chances of it being cancer are very low but I just want to know how people cope with waiting?! I've got another 11 days before I have the biopsy and was told I get the results on the same day - is that right or do I have to wait again?

  • Welcome to the forum Daisy although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us.

I think many of our members will agree that waiting for results is very tough. Some have even said it's the hardest part of the process so you're not alone in how you're feeling and hopefully some of them will be along soon to share their coping techniques with you.

In the meantime I just thought I'd share some handy advice I found about waiting for news on this website. I hope it helps and that you get good news Daisy.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi daisy,

I'm now going through the same thing. I have FNA 12 days ago at ultrasound and still no results, which I'm taking as a good thing but its still very worrying. Can I ask how you have got on? I've been informed I will have to have surgery to remove the tumour. Have you had surgery and how are you x
