Blood in urine,

I bought some urinalysis test strips and they are telling me that I have 25RBC (25 red blood cells per microliter), the normal rating is meant to be 4RBC, this means I have 21 more red blood cells than I should have in each microliter of my urine. When I go to my doctors appointment I will let them know, what could happen after I tell the doctor? Will I need to do urine and blood tests? And I would appreciate it if someone could tell me the reasons that blood might be present in my urine. All help is appreciated

  • Hi jp195338,

The best thing here will be to discuss this with your doctor. You mention you have an appointment booked - that will be the best time to go through all your questions and the doctor can advise accordingly.

Unfortunately we are a support network and can't offer any sort of diagnosis or medical info along these lines.

    Wishing you all the best,
