Waiting to get answers

Hi, this is my first time on here, so hi to you all.

My husband had an abnormal ex ray in Sept so had a CT scan in October, we were told the results in November that it looked as if he had stage 3 lung cancer and needed to have a biopsy. My husband also has an abnormal heart beat which they had to get down in order to do it, but he also came down in the meantime with fluid on lungs so spent 2.5 weeks in hospital. Eventually he had biopsy on 12th Dec and got the results on 6th January, the biopsy they took was apparently not from the right area, so now they are going to carry out a CT biopsy from the Adrenal Gland on the 25th February, in the meantime I can see him fading day by day, he seems to be visibly shrinking, coughing more each day. The waiting and not knowing is agonizing for us both, along with not getting any treatment.

  • Hi IJ,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read about your husband and what you're both going through.

I can only imagine how difficult the waiting and all the uncertainty is. Of course if you're concerned about how he is doing and the waiting times, do speak to his medical team to raise your concerns and see if anything can be done any quicker, or if anything can be done to support him in the meantime.

If you'd like to talk anything through with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
