Lump in right breast, pain in armpit and arm for months

About 6 months ago I started getting pain in my right armpit and back of arm. So i when to see my GP and it was put down to hormones. A month later i found a oval shaped lump on the upper part of my right breast ist firm but sort of rubbery. I put it down to maybe being a cyst or something else as I've allways had naturally lumpy breasts. I went back to the GP anyway as I've googled so many times my symptoms and of course it says its cancer. I was told again it sounded like hormones and that the lump didnt feel sinister and that it hadn't grown or changed size at all. It's been a month since the last appointment and I've still got the pain, got the lump and my breast is slightly swollen. I'm only 20 and I'm very nervous about most things when it comes to health I allways thinks it's going to be the worst outcome. I have the contraceptive implant (nexoplanon) and had nothing but problems since getting it. So thought it could maybe be that as the hormones change when I get the implant changed. I'm just wondering if anyone can shed some light about my situation. Have you had any of the symptoms and it turned out to be not as sinister as you though? I'm just very worried and it's really effecting my day to day as its allways on my mind.

  • Hello xxx

Yes xxx for years I have had the exact same symptoms as you and it's always turned out to be nothing, other than cysts and what they describe as 'glandular breast tissue'.

The oval lump you describe....I have one (actually three but only one gives me jip!) and have had it for years. It can get extremely tender....awful. And the armpit and arm pain I get from that boob is really quite sore.

Don't forget...GPs are highly trained to spot the signs of worrying lumps xxx they don't mess around....yours just sounds like mine (which does eventually disappear but comes back again in the same area )

I think it might do you some good to go back to your GP and tell them what you've stated on here...that you're worried to the extent that it is now affecting you day to day xxx
