Testicular Ultrasound Results

I have been for an ultrasound on my testicles after discovering a lump 3 weeks ago.

During the exam the person told me he also wanted to check my spleen, which got me concerned.

After the ultrasound he advised me that the results will be with my GP on Monday (today is Friday).

6 hours later I received a call from my surgery asking me to come in to speak to the dr. regarding my results. Next appt is first thing monday.

Obviously this was very quick so now am concerned.

Does anyone have any clue as to why they also decided to scan my spleen?

  • Hi there,

My Husband had testicular cancer 7 years ago so I hope I can be of help.

He went to GP with a lump who sent him for a scan, his also came back early and was called in to the doctors sooner than expected. GP did confirm cancer from the scan so went ahead with getting him in for surgery. In the meantime and while waiting for surgery he had all sorts of other tests and scans for different parts of his torso as he was told that that's where it spreads(within the torso). Lucky for him by the time he went for his OP the results found it hadn't gone anywhere and they only had to concentrate on the testicles. Although I'm no expert I would say they are being very thorough and trying to get as much info as they can. Please don't worry too much ....easy for me to say, the waiting is the worst but to ease your mind from finding the lump to op day was bang on 3 weeks, at the time it felt like 3 years and my hubby was very laid back (I'm the control freak)

I hope this helps a little please get in touch if you have any other questions

Fingers crossed and all the best x

  • Thank you for your reply.

I have been feeling unwell for the past 18 months with breathing difficulties and general tiredness with numerous visits to my GP.  Although they kept saying it's in my head and prescribing antidepressants.

Now I am more concerned it's all related and been left a long time.

I'm probably looking too much into things as getting worried.

  • Well today I got my results

I have 4 tumours in my right testicle each showing aggressive signs and own vascular supply.

    Not sure what to think....

  • Hello Justin
I'm sorry to hear that you've been given this news today. It's understandable that you're unsure what to think and probably how to feel about things at the moment. It's a natural part of the process of things.

I wanted to let you know that we have some information on our website here that you may find helpful but also I wanted to suggest that you give our team of nurses a call. You'll be able to talk to them in confidence and I'm sure that they will be able to offer some advice and support. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Presumably you have another appointment arranged with the Dr; maybe after some further tests? I hope that you don't have to wait too long for those.

Keep in touch and let us know how you're getting on. I'm sure that the members here will do their best to support you.

    Best wishes,
