Smear - abnormalities - Advice

I've been today for a cervical screening and it was notices by the nurse that I have Cervical Lesions on both side of my cervix. I'm so concerned because I've recently moved to Scotland and I've been told the wait time for an appointment can be awhile. Also, i've had a number of polyps in the past they turned out to be nothing serious but recently I've found two. It's driving me to distraction. I have an essay due, I can't concentrate and the thought of waiting weeks is making me feel weak at the knees :| I'm trying to be positive but my brain is on overload :|

  • Hello Alicia40

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some issues raised around your recent cervical screening. It's natural to feel worried especially if you've had some problems in the past.
Waiting for appointments, tests and results can be a difficult time but try to keep busy and not spend too much time focussing on the problem if you can. I know it's not always easy but looknig too far ahead will just make you feel more anxious.

I do hope that you don't have to wait too long for your appointment.

    Best wishes,
