Worried about swollen lymph nodes for 10+ years

Hello,

I have never posted on this forum before but was just looking for some advice.

i have been googling possibilities and I am so scared that I might have a low grade lymphoma.

I am 24 and I'm so scared to visit my gp again due to health anxiety but have booked an appointment for a few weeks time.

i have multiple swollen lymph nodes up on my neck, behind my ear (which is a hard lump) and jawline I have had them for around 10 years now and have previously been to my doctors when I first noticed them and was sent for blood tests that came back clear slightly low platelet level)

They haven't grown in size over the years that I've noticed. and I haven't had any weight loss or night sweats i'm still worried they could be something more sinister.

im just wondering if lymph nodes can remain enlarged permanently without it being something serious like cancer I do suffer with eczema which I have had from a child and wondered if this may be linked to it at all?

kind regards,

J x

  • Hello!

    welcome to the forum

i am no doctor, But, yes you can just have large lymph nodes!

some people have large lymph nodes for no real reason. Just the way your body is made! And if you have had them for 10 years without growth, I would be exceptionally surprised if it did turn out to be cancer!

i have lumps on my lymph nodes, and they are growing exponentially! I mean several cm in the last few months! So really no need to worry!

Hope this puts your mind at ease a little
