Colonoscopy

Hi everyone,

yesterday I had a colonoscopy. The nurse doing it said that my bowel looked okay. She took some biopsies of my bowel and I am now waiting for the results. I did ask her if there was anything cancerous and she said no everything looks okay and I have haemorrhoids.

It has been such a long road of symptoms, doctor and hospital visits for me which has been pretty stressful. Although some good news, I am still worried that they did find something and haven't told me until biopsies are back.

Has anythone has a similar experience to mine or does anyone have information. I know there are people on here diagnosed who are fighting incredibly through this quite frankly *** disease. So I do not want to waste anyone's time. Thanks

  • Hi

In my experience..... and i've had about 6, the rule is, if they find any cancer they will tell you before they let you home.

Bowel cancer was found on 2 seperate occasions with me over the last 5 years.

They usually take biopsies while they are in there to check and remove any polyps they may find.

I think you are ok as far as worrying about cancer. They would have got the specialist nurses to see you there and then.

Hope this helps to calm the awful 'what if' worry'
