I had the same with sedation and it calms you but i was aware of everything that was happening . Dont be afraid to ask for more as i did this in the end

No it didnt knock me out as i was having clonoscopy as well and they need u alert as u need to be able to move but hopefully just having the one done they will give you more sedation . Personally id have the gastroscopy over the colonoscopy any day

Have the throat spray too which numbs your throat so cant feel the camera going down it isnt too bad i kept swallowing which they said not to do just give in to it and you will be fine x

I had a gastroscopy about a year ago. The sedation I had was 7mg of midazalam, which is a Valium type of drug. I didn't know anything about the procedure at all. I also had a throat spray too.

Hi thank you for your help. Iv spoke to the GI team at the hospital they have said they will see if they can put me on the "deep sedation list" so let's see how that goes. They are also using the same drug which you have mentioned.
