Bit anxious now after receving a letter from the hospital

Ok, so I posted a few weeks ago after a CT scan on my abdomen and pelvis. After what seemed like an eternity (2 weeks in reality!) I finally received a letter from the hospital saying the appointment I had booked with the consultant for mid-February has now been brought forward to next week. I naturally leapt to all sorts of conclusions. Does anyone have any coping mechanisms for regaining a level of sanity?? I thought I would be able to handle something as simple as a letter and yet I feel as if I am spiraling into a dark place! What the devil will I be like on the day of the appointment? Any words of reassurance, no matter how cliched you might think they might seem will be very welcome :-)

  • Hi Lily,

I'd be exactly the same! Maybe try a bit of mindfulness meditation and breathing? I've got the audio book of Ruby Wax's mindfulness for the frazzled and think its great.

I know its not exactly the best advice but I just wanted to drop you a line so that you know someone had read your post and was thinking about you <3

    Hope all goes well

  • Thank you so much, how kind. I will look up the Ruby Wax mindfulness information. It's so odd... I'm a qualified counsellor and still can't talk myself down from borderline internal hysteria  :)

    Thanks again for your reply.
