Found a lump in my breast

Good evening,

I am 25 years old with two daughters. Went to the doctors as I've got a small pea size lump in my breast which I feel pain around. Had it for 2 months, I finally went to the doctors today who said under 40s aren't considered a risk but it's deep in my tissue and needs a second opinion?
I'm so so worried have postnatal ocd/anxiety and I'm really not feel good ️
mum certain it's now cancer and she said I should be seen within two weeks. It runs in my family and aunties have had breast removed as a result.

i just want the appointment to hurry up, I'm thinking it's everywhere and I'll be without my kids etc etc ️

  • Hello Parann

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found these lumps. I know that lots of our members here will understand how difficult it can be waiting for appointments and results. It's natural that you would feel worried about things particularly if you have experience of others close to you being affected by cancer.

Your GP is right that you have age on your side. I'm not sure how recently you've had a baby (you mention your postnatal anxiety) but remember that pregnancy and hormones can also impact on breast changes and lumps. Try and keep in mind that the large marjority of women who are referred to breast clinic with a lump don't go on to be diagnosed with cancer.

I hope this helps but if you'd like to speak to one of our nurses while you're waiting for your referral then do give them a call. It may help to talk things through. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
