Worried.Cyst vs lump in kidney

Hello all,

I recently had a renal mri of my kidneys. My doctors has told me that the results have been interpreted differently by two different people, one person thinking it's a cyst and the other thinking it's a lump. I need to wait a week for the scan to be looked at by experts for them to decide. Has anyone had this happen before? Trying hard not to worry but the doctor did talk about the chance it could be cancer.

Thanks

  • Hi Evie and welcome to the forum.

It must be difficult knowing different conclusions have been drawn from your results but hopefully the experts will be able to confirm whether it's one or the other. I'm sure some of our members who have gone through a similar situation will pop by when they can to share their experiences with you but fingers crossed it isn't anything sinister.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi

I was referred to urology after several uti's and blood in my urine. Was having a lot of stomach and pain in my sides.

Went to urology 2 weeks ago and they did a ultrasound and a camera into bladder. After the doctor done the bladder she said well that's looks good but we are sending you for a ct as there is a cyst or growth on your kidney and that sometimes the pictures from the ultrasound aren't very good.

So I am just like yourself not knowing if it's a growth or a cyst cancer or not!

I am still waiting on my appointment for the ct and a bit scared to call urology to ask incase they think I'm being a pest.

They didn't tell me the size or anything so really don't know a lot and I'm quite concerned.

Hope you get word back soon and it's good news.

    Thanks mags
