? multiple myeloma

Hi I've descovered bony lumps on my forehead and eyesocket. My GP did bloods and sent me for an ultrasound which showed bone growths and calcification. I was sent for a ct head and i'm waiting for the results My bloods have come back abnormal with raised wbc, serum calcium, serum c reactive protein, redblood cell distribution width and platelet distribution width, I have had severe pain in my feet knees and hips for weeks and had a mirena fitted for hyperplasia but i'm still bleeding.

My bloods don't strongly suggest Multiple myeloma or RA, which GP also mentioned. I was also sent to ENT just before xmas for a sensation of a lump when swallowing and productive cough which he put down to reflux. I am worried that if the ct scan sugests osteoma that i will not be investigated any further when I feel that I have so much going on. Can I request a referral to haematology if nothing is found by the GP?

  • Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their thoughts and experiences with you soon Karen but there's no harm in discussing your thoughts about a referral to haematology when you next see your GP.

Fingers crossed it won't be too much longer until you get your CT results back.

    Kind regards,
