Hello all,

My 61 year old mum has been extremely poorly since tuesday with vomiting, severe back and stomach pain. Spent the day in hospital and after a chest/stomach xray they told us there is a blockage and we need to have a ct scan...

Mums belly is very distended and this came on very quickly.

As i left to get home for my son I asked the doctor could this blockage be something horrible? And her reply was that it looks that way on the xray but let's just wait for ct scan.

I am heartbroken. She is our life and doesn't deserve this. Like everyone else :(

What are the chances this is benign? She has had diverticulitis years ago. But what the doctor said has terrified me. Ct is urgent and she's currently in a waiting room hooked up to 2 diff types of antibiotics and saline as shes mega dehydrated.

Any experiences??  Help :(
