second, I’ve had a flexi-sig and a colonoscopy in the last few months. And MOVIPREP is the worst. BUT, ask for PICOLAX. It’s the same effect but only a fraction of the volume, and it tastes like flat orange Fanta much nicer than MoviPrep, trust me!

the colonoscopy itself is okay! I’ve had one with sedative and one without! With sedative it honestly doesn’t hurt even the slightest! I was having a laugh with the guy shoving the camera up my bum, and the next I just got really drowsy (was quite nice tbh ha ha). Does hurt without sedative but it’s definitely bearable 

for reference I’m a 19 year old gal, :) so if I can do it, you can do it 

Thank you I need to get a grip, because of Christmas and NY it seems to have dragged on. I have never seen blood in my poo and think my mind is in overdrive imagining symptoms. They gave me MoviPrep to bring home so no choice in that. 

I wouldn't say you 'need to get a grip'! 

You are allowed to be scared. petrified even! It is a scary thing. But don't let this fear consume you. If you get a positive FIT result, you HAVE to be tested for things like bowel cancer, but very rarely will you actually have it! 

Also, my boyfriends mum had bowel cancer a couple years ago...and now she is completely cancer free, has done several half marathons and is training for the london marathon this year. So, even if it is cancer, you will be fine :) 

They gave me MoviPrep too, but i phoned and asked for picolax and they agreed and sent me some :) defo worth a try

I have Picolax as when I looked at the movi prep I was allergic to the aspartame in it. Tomorrow I start on the purge. I am hoping that it is ok to start it earlier than suggested as I  need to sleep well or my asthma plays up if I'm tired.

My appointment is at 8.45 on Sat but nobody said if everyone turns up at the same time and I just wait or if that is the time for mine

In my experience lots of people seem to arrive at the same time, that won't be the time they do the procedure.

Are you having sedation? I do, gas and air too.

Where do you buy the FIT test?

I'm over 60 and it is sent automatically. Unfortunately they discovered a 3cm tumour so now scared and waiting for more tests
